Default Weired Biker Wave -- what does it mean ?

Last week on my way home from work an oncoming biker waved at me funny...

He moved his hand above his helmet and then continuously opened & closed his hand.

Any Ideas?

I thought he was warning me of coppers. But there weren't any.

Coppers? You sure they weren't hiding in the bushes with a speed gun?
