Managed to take most of the dent out of the filter ring of my Zuiko 50mm f3.5. It won't take a filter but it looks a lot better than what it did.

Doesn't look too bad at all.
Have you tried the lens out? It's meant to be a good one.

Looks good, how did you do it? Finally took the shutter off the Super Fujica to measure the shim sizes needed. The threaded shutter back is 33mm diameter, so that's the ID of a shim (checked and it's definitely not near enough to 32mm), and the OD would be about 37mm but could go up to about 43.5 and still fit behind the focusing bit.

Becaused I couldn't get a wooden dowl in there I had to use a flat head screwdriver and tapped it out. I need to make a proper support thing to do it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JCCx7rSwC3s. Once I got most of it out I tweaked it with a filter ring tool. I have tried out the lens, but because I didn't tag my photos properly I can't post anything up right now. I actually went to the post office yesterday during my allowed daily exercise and posted the shims and two caps to JR and two caps to Yoko. Might get them today if you are lucky. If they don't fit JR I will have a go at printing some.

Edit: I actually managed to get a filter on the Olympus lens!

Also found a couple from the 50/3.5

Johnny, I'm just printing you some shims. Will probably work better than the metal ones and will offer you better fine tuning. 34mm ID and 40mm OD. 0.2mm, 0.3mm and 0.5mm

Thanks for posting out the caps. Hopefully they'll come tomorrow.
The shots from the 50mm macro look nice and sharp too. Maybe I should try some macro as I'm stuck inside most days.

Freshly printed https://flickr/p/2iXZ866 I've written the sizes on the shims, the 0.5mm ones are obvious. I couldn't print 0.1 as they would be too flimsy.

Link doesn't work? Thanks though, much appreciated. In other news, I've been gagging to fix something else but wasn't sure what. Now that I've got a proper set of rubber grips I thought I'd have another look at a Contessamat I bought with the intention of fixing up and selling on. The middle element was absolutely solid. I did what I could, accidentally snapped the flash wire, and when I found the aperture blades were still sticking (they're sprung, part of the auto exposure) I gave up and put it back in the drawer. I pulled it out and the aperture is fine, despite much fiddling. So, collimated it and dug out my soldering iron of tomorrow. Meter isn't great, but it works and the rest is fine. Looking forward to having another try with the Fujica, and after that I have a trinity of Super Silettes I could look at. No meters on them but nice big VFs.
