Default SV650 Curvy Luggage Query

I wanna do a bit of long milage this summer so I'm gonna need some luggage but not quite sure what to do, first and foremost I'm going for hard luggage for security reasons, I wanna be able to leave my bike with the stuff on it for a few hours and come back and it be ok where as the textile stuff I think would be much more risky.

Givi do the PLB521 and PB02 as shown...

Just the racking will set me back about £140 iirc, is there anything (hard) cheaper about that anyone knows of?

I think this setup with two side boxes would be best, then I can tie a tent on the back and other larger bits.

BUT, with side boxes, how much room is there for the Mrs' feet? Is it side boxes vs. pillion? Or would I just be limited at small boxes etc?

you could try Shad luggage. try here for starters on prices http://www.customlids.co.uk/bags/shad and http://www.bici.co.uk/c/193599/1/shad-luggage.html, manufacturers site is here http://www.shad.es/ (you'll need to select Reino Unido from the drop down list) available loads of places stand up to abuse/crashes fairly well and the top box i've got SH46 has been watertight. if you shop around box is around £150, backrest if you have a pillion is about £25 think fitting kit around £110. not sure if they do side cases for SV as well tho?

So what about Oxford softs then, do they all fit the curvy fine with room left for the Mrs' feet? Have any particular designs proven better than others?
