Fell off
crashed last Monday at the Woodford lights - weird one, no other vehicle involved, was slowing down for the traffic lights, next thing I'm plowing into the railings on the central reservation. Broken mirror, bent brake pedal and whole fairing shifted a bit to the left was the only damage, so under £100 to fix, the bruises and aches are taking a bit longer to go away from my body!
I think the bike hit a pothole and threw the steering to the right, launching me into the kerb of the centre reservation as I couldn't see any other reason for the accident - it was raining and about 6 degrees so it wasn't black ice, there was a large lump of brick on the central reservation which could possibly have caused the accident but I'm thinking the pothole is more likely the cause. Anyways, bike back on the road and I'm trying to keep an eye out for potholes more than I normally do! |

Re: Fell off
Tough luck, hope you are OK ? wasn't Diesel on road was it ? The sooner diesel gets banned off our roads the safer I will feel, as we all know Diesel with a dash of water is slipperier than Teflon.

Re: Fell off
Argh! sorry to read that Swin. I'm just getting mine back together after a low speed tumble on black ice. Mine was £200 ish too including a lower fairing repaint.

Re: Fell off
Thanks guys - I didn't see any diesel leading up to my spill (arf), but yeah, I wouldn't discount that - its just I saw a pothole and a brick nearby and put 2+2 together.
I remember the days when I'd play rugby for a weekend, be black and blue and still in the bar with the guys, then up for work monday - those days are long, long behind me now - a week since I came off and my arm is still sore |
