Pointy sv, no power on ignition
Balls! Came to use the bike this morning, after (2004 sv650s) it being sat a good 5 months. At the turn of the key there's completely no sign of life, I've checked the battery connections and the main fuse but still no life.
I'm hoping the battery's just drained but I would have expected it to at least power the display. On charge now though and fingers crossed! Anyone have any advice on what other simple things to check?

What he said. A brand new, fully charged battery might make 5 months, a battery of any age is unlikely to.

Re: Pointy sv, no power on ignition
It was brand new in April should be a bit better at holding charge, I left my last original one just as long before and it started first time
Hope it's not a fudged battery! But would be nice if just drained

Re: Pointy sv, no power on ignition
Yeah it's the battery, 10 hours on the optimate and I get a display - won't turn over though
Will see how it is tomorrow night, glad it's a simple one but hope the battery isn't fubar!

Re: Pointy sv, no power on ignition
My experience with batteries that get let really drained low is that even if you get a charge into them they soon die for good anyway
