Default safari

im going to have some money by approx july or so and was thinking about going on a safari. will be 2 adults and 2 kids aged 15 and 11.

has anyone been on one? can anyone recommend anywhere in particular. got few brochures yesterday but a lot of them involve a lot of travelling from place to place ie day one (4 hours) day 2 (3.5 hours) day 3 (6 hours).

thanx

Either Exodus or Explore (or maybe both) do some trips geared up for people with kids. The are not the cheapest nor the most pricey but are well organised. Beware there are some real cheapo trips that can be rubbish, especially important if you are taking kids.

Depends where you want to go...
The exchange rate with South Africa is really good at the moment so there may be good deals to be had if you book direct with parks in SA.

My daughter and I went to Kenya 6 years ago for a combined beach and safari holiday. 5 days at a Mombasa hotel, 4 days and nights on safari and then a further 5 days back at the Mombasa hotel.

This was the hotel

Then we stayed here in Amboceli

Here in Tsavo West

The best one though was in Taita Hills, a private game reserve

I really can't put into words how fantastic the whole Safari experience was.
