Default K4 oil light

Put two and two togeather, i guess i fscked up the oil chance....

Anyway, Did an oil change yesterday, all goo. Between the markers, more towards full than low, so thats all good.

The red light come on this morning when i turned the bike on, now not taken much notice of it before, but im sure it goes out pretty shapish after you turn the key? Anyway, it was on. Start the bike, light goes out...ride to work. Stop the bike light comes on again.

Any ideas?

Dan

It might very well do, but i've not noticed it before?

Does it come on again when you stop the bike as well?

I was in pretty much the same boat.

Dropped bike, picked up, noticed oil light on. Thinking I must have broke something, posted a message on here only to be told it's normal.

I'm almost certain my bike didn't used to show the light on turning it on. then I had damp electrics one day (bike wouldn't start), since that has been fixed, it is always on when you turn the key, until you fire the starter motor.

It's never on when I'm driving and the oil in the window is fine.

So, in answer to your question; Yes, I think it is normal.

Its normal don't worry about it. It comes on because there is no pressure in there because the oil pump is not on. With the bike running the oil is flowing.

When you do an oil change aren't you supposed to run the bike upto temperature, then let it cool & re-check the level

I'm sure I've read that somewhere
