Default Doubts with limited pointy.

Hello, I have a second-hand k5 and when I acquired it I had to limit it because I wasn't 2 years old driver. So I found a kit(atimpex is the trademark) that consisted in washers in the admission and a limit to the throttle.

It's been mounted into the shop that sold the bike to me, and in a few weeks I'm finishing the second year, so I've started wondering how unlimit the bike, if it will need some pieces that I have to ask for, or it's just about remove the washers and the throttle limit and that stuff.
Thinking of make it all on my own. And save some money that's scant right now...

Let me say that I'm not going to unlimit it not a day before the 2 years, but probably 2 years and 1 day .

Thanks.

Forgive my poor english.

Yes you can just remove the washers and throttle limiter.

P.s your English is better than some posters here who have it as a first language.

I always thought the injected SV's (his is a K5) were restricted through the ECU, not with washers etc... I take it this isn't always the case then.

For injection engine, If it is suzuki OEM 25kW kit then it is ECU.
Other makes of kit use washers and a throttle stop.

For carby, OEM kit is sliders, other kits use just washers (no throttle stop)

Red Herring: In the inyected models (k3 onwards) there's a limited ECU, that's given by suzuki, when you're not 2 years old driver. And it may cost up to 800 €, I found a 3rd party kit that did te same for 300€, but it had to do with washers and throttle limitation. Without touching the ECU.

Yes, but i read there were several problems with suzuki dealers giving you the paper for your serial number with a second hand 34hp-ECU(useless unless you can certificate it's limited, the paper we're talking about)((at least in spain)).

And also that they asked for that certificate from 30 to 120€(just a paper and has no president nor king face and a cypher on it...).

To sum up, the certificate, the ECU's that I found here(around 100 here, buying an ECU abroad was too risky because there are different models for each country, and didn't wanted a big headache), and the modified papers of the bike(my vocabulary doesn't go so far, the specs and all that stamped by the state) were more less the same, and it would take me a lot of time, and the bike dealer told me it's 300 plus labour, and after some talking it was just 300 and all papers ok in.

So I chose that.

Thanks anyways for the price, if anyone here has the same problem I will send him to ebay hehe.

If anyone can also anwser if European limited ECU's work for all European models..
