Fitting cigar socket - power from where?
Afternoon!
I’m trying to fit a cig lighter socket under the rear seat. I’ve run a cable from the -ve to the cig lighter. I’ve run a cable from the ignition wire ( where i also have my heated grips) to a fuse, and to the cig lighter. Insulated all the relevant bits, turned the bike on with a tomtom charger plugged in and pop. Something’s blown, but it’s not the fuses. Checked the 8 in the fuse box, 2 next to the battery. Get no lights at all, nothing on dash Bike is a k6 pointy. HELP!

Re: no power! Need help!
Rechecked the fuses, the 30A one next to the battery blew...
Put the spare in and all is working, but havent tested the cig lighter again. Anyone direct me to what could have caused it to blow?

Re: no power! Need help!
Panic over, the cheepo cig lighter shorted out behind the cover.
I've filled it with silocone and tested it to make sure it still wasnt shorting and all is fine!

It's hard to smoke on a bike anyway.

i've fitted one of these http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...m=290284956538
Slotted it in my hole for my R+G mount and cable tied down. Works brilliantly for phone charging so i can listen to music with my new bluetooth headphones. Sweet as. |

It may be a better place, but its just hanging about, loose in there! and ive gotta take the accessory charger out from under the main seat everytime and into the tank bag!
Went and bought 2 spares, just in case!
