I'm trying to convince the wife to tag along, baby sitter dependent. It'll be only her second/third time on the bike by then so I will either ride alone on the Saturday or grab a route file off someone so we don't have to hold things up at the back if she wants to take a time out etc
 How much is the green lane camping for a tent with 2 people, I can't seem to find any prices anywhere... Are there any places to stay very local within a short walk? So far I've found hotels in Southend to be the closest

Nice one, thanks, only a fiver for camping! Time to let the Mrs decide, I wouldn't mind camping....just need to make sure I don't pitch near snorers! After the AR I want to make sure I get "some" sleep

It's a big field and ear plugs that you use on the bike work well.

Don't! You're gonna get me looking at house prices up there again....
Trouble is once the winter sets in up there it aint half as nice anymore as down here....I just need to get used to taking an extra day out either side for travelling to have a cracking days riding I think! Already talking to the Mrs about taking a break up there for a few days, maybe even starting in Bellingham

You could go half way say peak district stop over and do the long weekend thing.

What I really need is a week long road trip up and around Scotland! I don;t mind the 6 hours or so getting there for the sake of not losing another day to stopping over somewhere
