Insurance Advice
Motorcycle-Direct are now using 2AXA2005 insurance policies. My quote doubled from £167 to £316.
BikeTeam (lovely service) did it for through KGM for £180. Exactly the same but with 60 days EU cover. |

Perhaps we have to guess the question from the answer. I'll have a go.
Was the question?: Why has my quote doubled and what would i do about it? Also, what's the best hemroid cream? |

Yes, I too had the same problem - last week I was quoted around 300 quid FC for renewal, now they want £560!? WTF?

I still get decent quotes for the SV off MotorCycleDirect, paying about £260 at the moment for TPFT cover (not garaged, 1 year no claims, bad postcode!), just had quotes for a VFR and a SV1000 and it only adds about £60 which is still pretty good.
Someone recommended Bike Team, Jabba I think on another thread, have to say, I'm impressed, just had a fully comp quote for a Daytona 650, MotorCycleDirect were a whopping £2700! (more amusing than that though was Swinton wanted £4k and the bike only costs £6k new!!!) Bike Team were £960 - still a few quid but the difference in cost would pay for the trade in nearly! Tempted again now... |

Motorcycle Direct
More bad news sadly...
Have informed them of my house move, as per the rules. Paid up front for the year (cost of approx £500) and have around 6 months left. Go through new details, then am told that I will only be covered 3rd party for the remainder of the year (am insured TPFT). Great, so I spent an extra £200 or so quid for 6 months fire and theft cover? I don't think so. Told them to sort it out, get hold of the insurers (they are only brokers) and find out why this was happening. And then phone me back. Which they haven't. This happened when I moved into my last place with my scooter - only had 1 month left at the time so didn't bother. The usual excuse is that I had moved to a high risk area (west Ealing) - so where am I living now, Beruit or Iraq? It's the quietest place I have lived in London. Curiously, when it came to renewing the scooter insurance, lo and behold, TPFT cover was suddenly available again. So if there are some odd smells of burning and ripping sounds as I tear the insurance droid at the end of the phone a new hole in the morning, you know where it's coming from. end Rant Unamused from southfields, crime capital of south london (allegedly)
