Fake Police Bikers
I've seen 3 different riders this week wearing a lookalike police hi-viz but instead of "Police" on the back it says "Polite".
Tossers.

Re: Fake Police Bikers
Erm... I have black leather trousers, wear a hi-viz and have a white lid. I just want to be seen and I'm not pretending to be something I'm not. The plain white lid was actually cheaper than the patterned ones too so the tightwad accountant in me took part of that decision. Does this make me a bad person?

Re: Fake Police Bikers
i have seen a few around Edinburgh but the riders were not hanging around. i see no problem with people making things safer for themselves.

Fake Police Bikers
I once asked someone why they chose a white lid. They said, "So car drivers can see my head when it's lying in the middle lane at night. The serious head injuries aren't from falling off, they're from getting hit by the next 10 cars"
Clearly I forgot when I bought the next lid. Black. I come across a fake cop fairly often. White lid, white Pan European. Hi-viz stripes on the bike. Vander suit. The works. To be fair he rides like a cop too - bolt upright but have you tried doing that at speed round corners and keep up with those guys??? |

Re: Fake Police Bikers
Riding around looking a bit like a police officer is one thing, but if you notice any of these people shooting pimps in leopardskin bedecked limos, or similar questionable behaviour, please be sure to inform Inspector Harry Callahan of the San Francisco Police Department. That sort of stuff makes him quite cross.

Re: Fake Police Bikers
I had a white lid.
But after seeing the bike instructor with a hi viz lid I bought one as it realy "Pops". For my commute I have a jacket with hi vis arms. It does have hi viz on the body but you don't see that with head down, arze up ridding position of a sports bike.

Re: Fake Police Bikers
I wear black leather pants, black jacket and a hi-vis sash if urban riding. To think I'm dressing as a traffic cop is feckin absurd.

Re: Fake Police Bikers
I bear a black 2 piece set, with a white helmet. I'd have gone Hi Viz with the helmet, but they didn't do the one i wanted in that colour. Then again, what i ride doesn't exactly scream "police"
