Getting polish off the black bits.
Through careless polishing I've got quite a bit of polish on the wrong bits, like the mirrors, the black frame, the seat and the plastic infil panels.
Its left white marks that wont clean off. Any tips? |

Re: Getting polish off the black bits...
bepends on the polish i guess. I left a load of Mer on the black bits and it was there for good seeing as i only noticed a couple of days later.
Then at a bike show they had a Mer stand and they sold a product that would remove it. Result. Cant remember what it was called tho as i didnt buy it as i;d sprayed the bits silver by then. Point is a product does exist and its not back to black or any of those other silicon based things. Contact Mer perhaps and run it by them, or whoevers polish it is you use of course.

Don't polish it in the first place. Wipe it with a sponge

Re: Getting polish off the black bits...
well you learn something new every day. according to MER you can use the polish as 'wash & wax' by adding a cap or two full when washing the bike.
must try the baby wipes thing the next time. |

Re: Getting polish off the black bits...
This will make you laugh and you probably won't believe it, but peanut butter or ground nut oil is superb at removing polish from Plastic trim.
