Hi, mine is an 07 reg 650s, am liking the look of the sv1000 stand with the longer metal bit sticking out to catch with my boot!

Got one from a GSXR750, don't know what year, on my curvy S. It keeps the bike a bit more upright, but not quite so easy to get at to flip down.

Hi mate, yeah the problem I am having is trying to catch the sidestand with my boot, hence wondering if the sv1000 one will fit as it has a long "arm" which looks just right. Thanks for getting back to me

are you using your toes or heal to kick the stand down?

I fitted an SV650 pointy side stand to my SV1000SZ K5.

They are exactly the same, except for the foot "tang" you refer to. The SV thou has the very long and ugly loop, to clear the exhaust. The 650 has either a shorter loop or a small knob IIRC.

I changed mine to the small knob type, purely for aesthetic reasons. It is harder to put the stand down, but looks so much better IMHO.
