Default Could this be a worn clutch??

My bike is a 2001 naked sv650 and the last couple of days I have noticed something strange. When I ride along and then suddenly crack the throttle open there is a sort of grinding noise and then the bike goes. Also the first couple of time that I pull away and slip the clutch is makes this noise too. Once the bike is hot it seems to be fine.

How long does the clutch last on average? My bike has only done 13k.
Has anyone else had anything like this, or know what it could be?

check your front sprocket, make sure is has teeth and your chain isn't slipping.

I got 102,000 from my original clutch, it wasn't slipping but no adjustment left when I replaced the fibres & springs only, as preventative maintenance,

Make sure the clutch is adjusted correctly first before condemning it.

Less than on a car though... Since it's hanging off the side of the bike it's easier to get to. I've not done it but it seems eminently DIYable...
