Re: would you
I use prescription medicine 10 years past its expiry date. Works fine.

So Bibs, you still here to tell the tale? Are you sat on the bog awaiting rescue?

Re: would you
I wouldn't, because I can't stand sardines .... the food itself is unlikely to be off, but the acetic acid in the tomato sauce might have worked its way through the protective layer inside the can and started working on the metal is probably the worst that would happen.

Re: would you
As long as the tin is airtight then it should be no problem - Don't even look at dates on cans.
Once found a yoghurt in the fridge 5 months past its date. It looked good, tasted good and by golly did me good! (maybe) |

Re: would you
Two years is nothing, they opened a tin of sardines dated 1945 on the TV program 'inside the factory' a few years ago and contents passed all the tests for pathogens, and they tasted OK. With canned food it is cooked in the tin, so nothing can get in... and oxygen is excluded .
