Re: MOT tyres pass or fail
Another vote for Avon Storm 3D. Not the cheapest or most expensive but excellent life, I got 11,000 miles out of my last set.
In contrast, the factory-fit rear Dunlop on my AL7 is nearly down to the wear indicators after 4,000 miles! |

Re: MOT tyres pass or fail
Never mind the MoT, get some new tyres! They are really important!
The Maxxis tyres someone recommended above will be a great deal better than worn out ones you have at the moment and seem to only cost about £30 each: https://www.mytyres.co.uk/cgi-bin/rs...ger&Country=UK ... I know, you will have to get them fitted at that price (or do it yourself - not all that difficult. Go on, save your own life for £60 - do it today. |

Re: MOT tyres pass or fail
Your link is for a 12" tyre, the 17" size costs around twice that.
£120 for Maxxis or £140 for Avon Storms? No contest. |

Re: MOT tyres pass or fail
One set of Avons could outlast two sets of Maxxis.
You're spot on about budget |

People get very fussy about things like tyres (oil is the same), but I think maybe you slightly missed my point: I have no view of which make of tyres the OP buys, I just think he should get some new ones before the worn out ones kill him. Ho hum. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

Re: MOT tyres pass or fail
I wouldn't have Maxxis tyres again after the last set I had on wore out so quickly. They weren't even very good while they lasted either.

I’d not heard of Maxxis tyres until someone recommended them in the thread above. If they are no good then it is really helpful for someone like you with first hand experience to let the OP know. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |
