Default Painting my fairings?

I had an off and want to paint my fairings. I seen on the "A minitwin is born" thread that Berlin done an excellent job using rattle cans and i fancy giving it a go.

Can someone please give details of what do do and what products to use?

From what i have read i need to:

*Sand off paint
*Fill scratches
*Sand down level
*Prime
*Sand
*Prime
*Paint
*Paint
*Paint
*Clear coat
*Buff

Not sure what grade papers, what paint to use or anything so if anyone has pro tips please let me know.

Thanks

you only need to key it into the paint so a 1200 grit where the scratches are 1000 and would use the 800 for the filler and if you are doing the bike yc2 blue be careful how many coats you do or it can go mauve once painted and clear coated use a 2000 grit to flat it off and then use a g10 finishing compound. if you need to ask anymore questions just message me and tbh rattle cans arnt the way to go. before you put colour on dust some matt black over and then rub the primer down once more, all bumps scratches ect will show up black against the grey primer so you can deal with them for the perfect finish

if your good with the clear coat you wont need to cut it back, none of mine did

but what bill said rattle cans are naff, you wont get a nice finish hence needing to cut alot

for a road bike what Berlin did would look ok but naff.
Berlin's bike is a racebike which gets one paint a year if lucky. The bike in the flesh looks like a well finished item but the paint chips soo easily
