Any one got any experiance of having either a Hagon or Nitron rear shock on the SV??
Just wondered what they were like/peoples views on them. I can get a full front and rear upgrade from Hagon for £315, which i thought was good. but before i would concider it i will see what peoples opinions are first. Cheers for any input. |

In terms of shock performance I had a Hagon shock on my Bandit 600 and found it fine, however, several people have suggested they are equal to original equipment, where as the Nitron shock is likley to be a better performance mod

Never had a Hagon shock, but can safely say that Nitron shocks are spot on. Am well chuffed with mine, depends how much you want to spend and what you want from the shock though.

I'ev not met a Nitron, IMO Hagon is better than stock but not really good enough to justify the cost. I'd sooner have a 636 shock tbh.

Afternoon all.
It all depends on what you do with your bike. Hagon are excellent, & usually out perform the standard shock somewhat. They also have a 2 year unlimited mileage guarantee, & if you're fitting Hagon springs at the same time, you'll find that they complement each other nicely. Nitron also make a very good shock, but they do several models. Their sport shock is similar to the Hagon, in so much as it has a single combined damping adjuster, but its also around £40 more. Their race & track shocks are really good, better that Ohlins in some cases I think. However they are pricey. Personally I would go for Hagon at both ends, unless you're planning for some serious track use. Cheers. |

fit a hagon if you 'need' a shock (mot etc) otherwise nitron or hyperpro to improve the handling
nitron and hyperpro emulsion units are similar in price and equal performance, the hyperpro is better finish imho |

Weel thank you all for the advice.
By the sounds of it not much in it. I would have got the basic Nitron and as stated nut much diff from the Hagon. So looks like if i was going to do it then i would get Hagon front Progresive forks and their rear shock. Spanner man. How much would you charge to fit both items? if i was to take a trip up this winter?? |

The Nitron and Hyperpro are far superior to Hagon

Morning all.
You would be looking at around 2 hours labour to fit the shock, clean & grease the linkage, & fit the fork springs, at my piffling forum rate of £25 per hour, inc VAT. At current prices I can supply the shock & the springs for £286 inc VAT. This saving should at least cover your petrol costs. & you can drink as much tea & coffee as you like, while you wait. ![]() Cheers. |
