I've clicked the link and read through #40 and can't fathom what it means, so you'll have to explain i'm afraid if you do think it to be relevant.

Re: The MTB thread
All rule 40 means is that you centre any label on the tyre at the point on the rim where the valve hole is.
Its practical, as it shows relative to the valve hole where any object might have penatrated the tyre if you compare it relative to the inner tube. Otherwise rule 40 is for cyclists with OCD!!

Re: The MTB thread
I'm after a new front light for my mountain bike for off road riding so am after suggestions on which to go for.
I'm on a limited budget so it needs to be reasonably priced, it also needs to have a good beam pattern, It doesn't need to be rechargeable but it would be better and it will be being used for around 2hours at a time but not on full setting. So what lights are people using and rough prices? Thanks in advance. |

Re: The MTB thread
I use a magic shine 872 with a digital battery.. Does last 2hrs on full beam and very bright. On my head is an electron terra evo. Decided on a head light after to total blackout in the woods
Similar to the 856 http://www.ebuyer.com/364222-led-bike-light-mj856 The 872 has a wide beam. I did start off using the cree flashlights which are cheap to buy and run and you can carry a stack of batteries without too much weight. I'm sure opinion is divided but I hate the o ring fittings on the new lights.

Re: The MTB thread
Ive got several lights ranging from a 200 quid moon xp 1500 to a 25 quid Chinese copy of an old magic shine. Get one of ebay or dx.com itll take a month to arrive but will give you 90% of the performance for little cost.

Re: The MTB thread
Quick question, considering getting a mountain bike after being without for a few years. Saw this on gumtree but haven't heard much about the make, is it a bargain? Looks decently specced...

Re: The MTB thread
Voodoo are the 2nd tier range from Halfords, Boardman bikes being at the top.
Some of the Carrera bikes are also on the same level. But the one you've seen is nicely specced, although I don't know anything about the suspension on it. I've got a hardtail Voodoo and I'm perfectly happy with it, its not as well specced as the one you've seen
