Default Now what?

Up at 5:30am, went for a ride at 7am since the forecast was for rain later (on east coast). Got home cut the grass and did a bit of weeding. Lubed chain. Ordered some frozen blackcurrants. Had a coffee and it's still only 10:15.

Time for a gin and tonic and a well deserved nap.

Figure out a way to make £millions so you can afford to do that every day (without the inconvenience of disruption by needing to work for a living)?

i have, but its physical health that stops me
its true that you can have all the money you need but health is more important.
when some of the worlds top surgeons tell you that you either stop smoking or they'll cut you legs off you soon buck your ideas up

Happened to one of my cousins, he was given exactly the same choice. Had several arterial grafts in his legs (and neck!) over 20 years ago, you wouldn't know it apart from the scars.

Sorry to hear that. I agree the value of health should not be underestimated. I have a disabled wife and I'm beginning to feel my own deterioration with age, so I can definitely relate to the restrictions and frustrations.

My jokey statement was intended more to highlight an aspiration of finding the solution to having the time to do what you choose to (i.e. leisure), rather than what others' choose (i.e. work). Having the time is better than having the money, once you've got "sufficient" money, however much that is. I like my employment/work but I'd give it up in a heartbeat and occupy my time dfferently if I was financially independent enough to not have to work for a living.

...it was a double espresso - hence the grass cutting, weeding, chain lubing...
