Re: Leak in car
If the drain tubes are blocked they will leak no matter what you do.
On the discovery there are 3 ways they leak... a) the "cups" that connect the drains to the sunroof tray need resealing b) the flange of the sunroof itself needs sealing c) the drain tubes are blocked and this means the tray fills up and overflows inside. All just time and a bit of sikaflex to sort it out Turns out it's loads more fun to do in summer with a few beers than it is to do in mid january in freezing sleet and driving wind. Hey ho.

Re: Leak in car
Ok, so not been on here yesterday. It turns out Renaults are **** - 3 kids Scenic perfect for lugging us all around in.
Scuttle Panel. Blocked drain plug equals water ****ing into your footwell. ******s. A real common issue with Renaults. ******s. Bit fiddly but easy to do. Under numerous bits of plastic, plus the wiper motors is a drain hole. In my case everything looked spotless. Only got the car 2 months ago, so they valeted the **** out of it. However they didn't remove the plastic parts or the motors. Both sides now unblocked, hoping that sorts it. They weren't totally sealed up, so under normal rain flow would fill up but drain in time. Motors both a little corroded to show submersion. However it really ****ed down Sat in Stansted. Now just got to wait for the car to dry out. Fingers crossed that's it sorted. I don't have a sunroof so next on the list would be the screen - Autoglass quoted £130 to take it out and put it back in. Not covered under insurance. Renualt apparently charge £150 to clear the drain plugs. 45 mins work for someone who had never done it before. ******s.

Other favorites, coil pack, washer pumps. But it has also done the very helpful electrical fault. Cleaning out the throttle body and reseating the electrics under the armoured connector seems to have helped although I couldn't see a problem (Other than limp mode) in the first place.

Re: Leak in car
shiftin_gear if you have a "range" store near you they do some chemical dehumidifiers pretty cheap. Maybe worth a go.

Re: Leak in car
Word of advice. Don't spill a bag of bird seed in any of the damp areas unless you want sunflowers, peanuts and corn growing inside your car.
My bird seed in a flimsy bag, a mate's old leaky car. He went on holiday for 2 week's and when he got back it was less Ford Escort, more Kew Gardens.
