You're not the only one - I received my latest 3 points (having just removed my first ever set) about a week ago.

Been driving 16 years, riding 4 ish. I speed pretty much every day (like most of us). So I don't see that as a bad record.

+1,
Pretty certain I got snapped by a mobile van yesterday, as RichT says.
I dont look at it as getting caught on that occasion, I thought fair enough I speed (all be it generally just over the limit much like yesterday) but Im not caught all time so that ticket is payment for all the times I've gotten away with it.

Made me chuckle tho, the bloke in the LH lane came past still accelerating while I'd dabbed the brakes to drop it back closer to the 50limit. He didnt touch his brakes until only 20/30yrds from the van, either he didnt give a monkies or his obs were terrible.

Yeah I am a 17,000 mile a year rider so it had to happen eventually , 20 years almost to the day I started riding .

I turned 39 on Friday mate , probably won`t affect bike premium but the car one jumped £200 when I added the SP30 to it

I wont go into details but I collected 6 points in one fell swoop. Car insurance went up by £28 (£15 of that was an admin fee) and the bike didn't go up a single penny!
I must say I was expecting a lot worse.

When my mum got her trio she told them and they said not to worry until renewal, and the paperwork for my policy with Admiral says you only need to tell them at renewal, but as is the case with anything to do with insurance your policy may be different - the only way to know is to call them or have a good read through the documentation...

Both my car and bike insurance people said tell us when you renew, but I also think they liked the fact that I told them straight away, keeps them in the picture and helps avoid any misunderstanding.
