Default winter riding

I noticed on the main forum a string about someone putting the bike to bed this week
I fully intend to ride all year round. as I did last year.
but the difference this year is that I now own a Brand new SV650S.
this being the case I would like some advice on how to maintain my bike through the winter.
I travel about 260 miles a week to work and leaving it at home is not an option.

yep - hose it down after every ride if the bike has gotten wet at all. If you've not got an external tap and hose at home, get one fitted now, you'll need to do this a lot...

I don't have an outside tap, but I have the biggest supersoaker water pistol money can buy. Do you think that'll work?
