Swapping headlight bulbs
I've got a pair of headlight bulbs I need to slot into my 2000 bike and was wondering whether I'll be able to do it this evening? Is it a case that I need to remove all the fairing panels or can you get away with removing each side panel in turn?
I had a quick read of my Haynes manual, which was pretty useless for doing this, and was after a quick pointer so I know whether I'll have enough time to swap them? Cheers Jase |

No need to take fairings off. Remove the connector and the rubber cover from the back of the light. Unclip the old bulb, insert the new, replace cover and connector. DO NOT TOUCH THE BULB GLASS. If you do, clean with meths or ISP alcohol.
Simple mate.

So do you just kind of reach up from under the fairings then?

I did it from the top... If you have gorilla arms you might need to take the side panels off

Yes, just take the plastic off the rear of the bulb thingy, and unclip, and take bulb out, replace, and re-clip.
MATE, ITS SO EASY EVEN I CAN DO IT!!!! |

Does the speedo not get in the way? I can't picture it, but if I can do it without removing fairing panels that sounds cool! By the way, while I don't have gorilla arms I don't have bean sprout arms either so I may struggle! |

Nah, you just reach under. Probably easier from the bottom if you've got two functioning legs but I tend to do stuff as vertical as possible
