Spooky trees.
Over the past few days I've been watching a lot of movies - don't ask why - but it struck me how many spooky trees there were.
There's the obvious tree of 'Reflect-the-darkness-within-your-own-soul' in Empire Strikes Back. The tree of 'Get-the-girl-covered-in-muck-to-meet-an-evil-bloated-devil-toad' from Pan's Labyrinth. The tree that screams 'Christopher-Walken-and-his-sharp-pointy-teeth-is-buried-under-here' fron Sleepy Hollow. As well as the Whomping Willow, or rather 'Let's-cheer-for-the-tree-and-hope-he-splats-the-brat' from Harry 'Effin' Potter. Such an overdose of evil greenery inspired me to go into my garden and photograph my very own 'Something-gribbly-dwells-within' tree. But at least I'm only harbouring a little bit of spookyness: |

OK, random. Though like my bike, my hair also looks black in most photos, even though it's really very, very, dark blue.

He's 16" nose to tail - and that tree's only about 12" tall. |

.. and I'd done a new avatar with blue hair. Thought I'd explain why. Oh, and someone reminded me it was a U-rated site and it was unfair of me to ruin all those kiddies lives by having "Santa isn't real" as my old sig... ... and the usual reason that I couldn't think of anything remarkably witty to put. Um. Yeah - I think that was it. |

Re: Spooky trees.
It's a Field Maple - the leaves are very like the one on the Canadian flag - only green not red.
