Re: Petrol smell when cornering
I'd say get your carb balancing checked.
Standard K2 shouldn't pop on the over run. Unless, of course, it previously had a change of exhaust and needles. |

Re: Petrol smell when cornering
Think I have found the culprit, filled up today, shook bike from side to side, opened filler, well beside filler opening wet with fuel, I am now quite certain the filler cap seal is not connecting properly with the tank lip, so I have fashioned a large rubber washer ( have checked it don't melt in petrol ) and fitted it between the proper seal and tank lip, this is a tempory measure for testing purposes, the slosh side to side test shows no leakage and I have received no reports of fuel clouds from behind on a 160 mile run to lands end today.
Looking promising, Will order a new filler cap when I am 100% sure,

Re: Petrol smell when cornering
I run a smear of silicone grease ( safe on rubber ) around the tank rim then closed the cap, this confirmed the original seal wasn't working as the grease line transferred to the seal was incomplete, done it again with the tempory seal in place, grease line complete.
