Default D&G roads

good news Girvan to Newton Stewart road has been mostly i would say 90% re surfaced with the good stuff, bad news Queens Way has had a few bits of very recent surface dressing, even worse news the Dalveen and Leadhills is littered with very recent surface dressing and a lot of the signs have been kicked over so be careful.

Heartbreaking to see the amount of that horrid, crappy gravel they've sprayed all over the roads down here (again) of late.

Almost criminal in fact.

Default D&G roads

There was a petition against surface dressing a while back but judging from the official government response, it achieved feck all.

WARNING... RANT MODE ON...

TBH that petition is going about it all the wrong way. the Gov is responsible for maintaining the motorways and its the local authorities that do the other roads. threatening the local authorities is the only way that you will get surface dressing stopped. health and safety is not being adhered to with the signage. everyone needs to report misuse of signage and state that if someone has an accident due to not being informed early enough then they will have a law suit on their hands.

gopros are becoming more and more popular, all it will take is for someone to be seriously injured or worse with footage before they will stop.

now what gets my goat is all this so called 'road safety'. if they were so interested in saving peoples lives and making the roads safer places then surface dressing would never have seen the light of day which goes to prove that they are not interested in saving lives but generating revenue.

if its bad on a motorbike think how bad it is for cyclists, it must be like riding through a beach.
