Re: Vintage film cameras
The staff at my local mentioned about scaling back. Thankfully mine is one of those keeping all services.

Re: Vintage film cameras
Do you guys ever think about a theme for your photos? I tend to just snap away but I was thinking something like decay using black and white. Thoughts?

Re: Vintage film cameras
Nope. I don't shoot a lot seriously, I tend to snap a lot with my phone and it's often my daughter or something ridiculous I've seen. I do like the idea of, for want of a better term, a project, but I'm entirely without inspiration. I'd like it to be something that means something to me rather than purely aesthetic. I've tried to take some pics of Tickhill where we live with the intention that I could put a few good ones up in the house; not got that far yet of course! The churches theme this month is interesting, we have a few nice ones in Doncaster town, and a small chapel in a nearby village which all lend themselves.
There are some gallery threads on the rangefinder forum, which I like to peruse. I have to admit that I don't know why half the shots were taken, but in there you still find some really good ones for inspiration. That and a few cliches, but as they're chosen by forum members, not so many. |

Re: Vintage film cameras
Well, this is the view from my bedroom widow for the next couple of weeks, It's too much of a pain to upload the images to file sharing sites so a link will have to do.
https://leeds365-my.sharepoint.com/:...Pt_-Q?e=GPtZbF Today's a bank holiday and someone's turned on the 'hot' button - 26 degrees. I'm not here for long so only brought the pocketable RC35 and went to my fave shop today to get it some food. https://leeds365-my.sharepoint.com/:...zsc4g?e=5QFJWH https://leeds365-my.sharepoint.com/:...Mbsvw?e=5l7LnE I'm usually in Chengdu when it's cold and grey so it's a change to be here in springtime in the sun. Will try to get out and take some photos this weekend. I tend not to think about photo themes on the whole though I do remember a day in York looking for doorways because it was the photo comp subject on here. However, where I'm going will dictate subjects to some degree. I know if I go out in the city here, it'll be street shots or architecture but then, if I go to a temple, things change. For me, I tend to just wander out with a camera and take a picture if something inspires me, which could be anything. I guess there's an argument that if you have a theme in mind, are concentrating on that, and have lenses for the purpose, you could miss other things. |

Re: Vintage film cameras
Got a Yashica Electro 35 GS on the way. It was listed as Vintage? Yashica 35 GS Camera, not sure why but it cost a whole £5.80+ post. Hopefully it will work ok.

Craig Charles. Also had a shot with the whole crew as well at the very first EM-Com in Nottingham in 2015.
