Default Weight

Hi,

Has anyone weighed their SV (650) - how close is it to the claimed weight of 162 (dry) kilograms?

What options are there for getting the weight down? (for pushing up my bloody mountain of a driveway - not for performance!)

Same as Iansv.

Just cover the rear brake if you're not used to the clutch travel so you can avoid rolling back. I don't see why you wouldn't be fine.

Haven't weighed it but just add weight of fuel, oil, coolant, numberplate and any add-on bodyparts. Subtract weight where you've saved eg. Lighter exhaust.

Agree tho ride it up, cover the back brake. Easy to roll it down while covering brakes.
Can you drive a car up your driveway?

Default ok

Here's a detailed, measured picture of my driveway My house is the top left one and the garage is behind the white gates.

What do you reckon?

its steep but i'd ride it up. You can try to make the SV lighter but do you think you'd be able to do anything that would have a noticeable effect?

If I was off the bike i'd still use the engine to get it up there.

I don't think its any steeper than my old driveway, altho much more awkward looking.

if you can push a bike up and get it through the gate then you can ride it up.
Riding it up will be safer, as well, since you're less likely to lose balance or accidentally roll back, since you'll have your feet either side and brakes to hold you.

If you can push the bike up, you'll soon lose weight!

Ride it up, or get a trials bike and go up the steps - helpfull, huh?
