Front suspension of a SV1000 on a SV650
Maybe a ,,very stupid'' question...
Is it possible to use the front suspension of the pointy SV1000S on a pointy SV650S? If possible; would be a nice swap. Better brakes hé... Here are the specs: SV1000S Fully adjustable front forks with 46mm inner tubes. Telescopic, coil spring, oil damped Powerful 4-piston front brake calipers with 310mm floating discs. 17 inch aluminium alloy wheels with 120/70ZR17 front (58W) SV650S Telescopic, coil spring, oil damped Front tyre 120/60 ZR17 (55W) Front brakes 2-piston calipers with 290mm discs. |

Why not just do the tried and tested GSXR front end?

For what it's worth, I doubt you could find an SVthou front end any cheaper than a GSXR front end.

Having said that I might be sticking an SV1000 front end on mine. Costing me nothing though. I'm kind off getting bored with the USD and fancy playing around with the 1000 front end I've got kicking around. One thing going for the SV1000 forks is that it's longer than the GSXR forks but the fork offset is smaller than my Curvy(not ideal ). Depending on what the yoke offset if for the 'Pointy' that may not matter. If and when I decided to do it I would be using the forks in GSXR yokes or get a set of yokes made to my spec. Cheers Ben Edit: The complete front end would bolt straight on . |
