Default Top Gear is back

I agree, one of the best shows ruined by the Peugeot bit, I was hoping it was going to be an ironic turn around and then they would say they have made this new car that is brilliant but no....

Shame

I think the "message" they were sending about certain drivers who weren't petrol heads was quite funny, however it did wear a bit thin eventually.

I was thinking about last night's episode and have decided it wasn't a mindless load of tosh by a bunch of idiots that have ran out of ideas but it was actually a clever analogy of the progression of the Top Gear format as well as a comment on the state of the BBC television and television as a whole.

The comment that they decided to make bad cars and were REALLY good at it relates to the fact Top Gear is nothing about cars and a cheesy entertainment show for people with no interest in motoring that against all common logic has become extremely successful and a huge cash cow for the BBC.

Either that or it was two blokes messing about in old cars for a laugh because they thought it might be funny.

It did go on a bit, but I thought it was funny. I was also expecting it to lead to the new GTI

I was laughing so much Lady Poppy came to see why. Bit like the caravan section the same two did a series or so ago where they kept going to the DIY store, then the dump, then washing the cars over and over. Bit too long and I do wonder what Peugeot will say as a result. By the by, a mate had one of the first 406 saloons and still says it was one of the best cars he's ever had - I'm worried about him now!

I wouldn't say anything if I were them. IF they are just trying to build cars a cheap as possible to sell to people who just want to get from A to B (which is a perfectly valid business model) then their customers aren't watching Top Gear, so to say anything would only serve to draw attention to it.
