Default sv650 k1 cooling fan

Hi, well as some of you know im a honda technician. Now, dont get me wrong, the suzuki sv650 is a nice bike to ride, and it was cheap so it makes a good bike for a work hack and also to thrash on the track. But come on, in two months I have had to replace a cylinder head, replace the reg/rec, fix that god awful clutch cover leak AND adjust my chain (joke). Anyway to add to my list the god damn fan doesnt come on and never has, so whilst I had my multimeter with me I checked for continuity at the fan side from the connecter which is good, then I checked for obvious batery voltage at the connecter and guess what there isnt any, open circuit, boring.

So, I have been tracing (in pitch black) the orange wire and want to know if it runs to the fuse box or not as I have no diagram and to be honest I cant be bothered looking at one. Maybe I should of probed to ground through the frame to cancel out a bad earth to the connector but hay its late and I care not. So come on! Anyone want to save me some hassle so I can eat my 20 doughnuts from asda whilst watch the back to the future trilogy!

THANKS!!!

Hi - not long after buying my K1 I noticed that the fan wasn't working when it should. I lifted the tank and after tracing the wires to the block conector on that sits on the left side of the frame, and noticed that the two halves of the plug weren't even connected. Pushed em together - problem solved. How had they separated ? the bike had just been serviced so the "mechanic" may have pulled the plug apart - although I don't know why he'd have wanted to have done that OR Suzuki are so stingy with their cable and dont give you 1mm more than they have to that the tension either side of the plub may have pulled the plug apart. We'll never know
