Default Neutral Indication Light?

Hey guys,

[ramble] Well I have run into a situation that I don't have the knowledge to fix but I thought you could help me out. I have found that my Neutral light is burnt out. Or seems that way. It's not that I am having a hard time finding neutral, I know all the tricks for that. I know I am in neutral because the bike is allowing me to easily roll it front and back. Also, when I used to pass from first to second, I could see it flash for a second and now it is not doing so. Is there something I can check? It seems as though a wire came loose? I did remove the linkage on the gear lever and perhaps there is a wire/sensor down there? Although, I have looked and there doesn't seem to be. Is it a LED that indicates neutral? Something that can be replaced... I am somewhat concerned. That light is quite handy, and on a bike that is tricky to find neutral sometimes, it would be tough without it. [/ramble]

Thanks for all your advice and help!!

Mitch

It's an led, not a bulb, so i can't see blowing or burning out in a couple of years.

You could easily check with a new led/multimeter but it's alot of work stipping the front end down to find out.

I'll see if you can multimeter it from under the under the seat.

otherwise, I'm not sure where the neutral light switch is, it's probably integrated in the ecu on k3+

Hey guys,

Problem is, I am hundreds of miles from my dealer. I guess I will have to give them a call and see what they recommend.

Hey,

Well, if anyone runs into this problem I think, my father and I have realized what we did wrong. We put the linkage on upside down. I will verify this tomorrow so see if that's what was causing the issue... I sure hope that fixes everything...

Thanks for the info Mitch, hope this was the problem and is now sorted. I had to run my bike with no speedo, tacho, instrument indication lights at all for a period of time, was a hindrance more than a problem.

Hey,

Well, I realize now that I had it set up for racing... 1 up, 5 down. I didn't know you could do that... That's cool. Good that it's sorted.
