im suprised east dorset and the new forest wasnt mentioned. i live in bournemouth, really nice, both summer and winter. and have also lived and have relatives in the new forest and some places are absolutly stunning.

bit sus to me really

i think it went on many criteria. life expectancy, job prospects, future plans for area etc etc

i do agree, your part of the world is wonderful. i consider myself very fortunate to live where i do. so close to the beauty of the new forest and diversity of bournemouth, and being only an hour away from the cosmopolitan capital city of ours.

I live in the next valley over from Merthyr....

I wouldnt lump all of Merthyr as a bad place to live.. but I wouldnt stop near the Gurnos if I were you

you may find yourself without transport...
