Default Boiler issues!

Anyone know a few things about combi-boilers?

Came home on Monday to no heating and 'F1' flashing on the boiler. This was low pressure so I topped up to 1.5 bar and it's been ok.

Came home again tonight to the same thing and had to top up again. Heating was working both mornings when I left.

First time I thought was just a one off, but twice in a week?

Anyway it's taken a good hour and a half to raise the temp from 13 to 17.

Any suggestions of what it might be?

If its losing water pressure, its either you have a leak somewhere or the blow off is dumping a bit of water.
You should have a 15mm pipe outside coming fro your boiler, top it up and monitor this pipe see if any water is coming out.

I concurr lol, the pressure vessel is probably knackered, it's red usually on the back of the boiler has a car tyre valve on the top of it, if you take the cap off and press the nipple in, if water comes out you need a new one, if no water pump it up to .75 of a bar and fill system water pressure to 1 bar and see how it goes.

Well it's run for about 3 hours now, and the pressures gone up to 2 bar?

I'll see if anything happens over the next few days. I'm hoping the pressure vessel isn't knackered as the house was only built in June!

Well in that case isnt the boiler under its 1 year warranty?

Thats the plan, but I was wondering if there was anything more specific I could do tonight as they're not open till the morning. At least I won't freeze tonight tho as it seems to be working.

Pressure loss can be from anything not only the pressure vesel, yr rads could be leaking or pipework.
If it keeps hapening and you cant trace it, you could try some sealant that you inject into the system, have to be carefull to only get the type thats certified with combiboilers.

I have exactly the same issue, loosing pressure, no visible leaks.
So far this winter ive shoved over 20bars worth of pressure in it and yet to find a leak. takes a 2-3 days to loose all pressure, although its becoming quicker.

inspecting the pressure vessel today.
