Bridgestone BT21 rear tyre - how many miles?
how many miles should i be getting?
i think they are bt21 on the rear... lots of motorway riding, i ride quite hard and fast... up the gears quickly, popping the front tyre up upto 3rd gear (not much we are talking 3-4 inches) , about 15kgs on the back in my backbox each ride... receipt is at home, gonna check how many miles and what tyre it is exactly... but just wanted to know some rough figures... |

7-8k roughly i squeezed out a rear.
didn't like the tyre though, thought they were ****, ok for commuting but i only used it to the end because I'm tight. I joyfully killed them on the motorway. |

Re: Bridgestone BT21 rear tyre - how many miles?
Ok dug out receipt BT21
Fitted June 2012 Miles since 6k Based on what has been said above I got just a bit more (~1000miles) outta these as the Dunlops that came on the bike £135 for the rear tyre fitted So next I'm gonna try <insert tyre here>. Oh also my last service was 8500k on the clock is just under 11k, but it's been a year since last service, anything special that needs checking around 11/12k - want to service myself instead of paying £300 to Lloyd in Watford. Cheers folk |

Re: Bridgestone BT21 rear tyre - how many miles?
£300 for a 7.5k service WTF.
lets break that down: oil £20 (being very generous) plugs £16 (that's if they were changed) oil filter £6 brake fluid £4 (that's if they it was changed) grease £50p air filter £12 (that's if it was changed) total £58.50 if they are a suzuki dealer they get service items at mega discount. which means that they have robbed you of £241.50 for an hours labour. doing it yourself using OEM parts and good oil your looking at £100 for the above. just think how many tools £200 will buy you then once you have the tools the next time the service is done your £200 better off in your pocket or you buy some other service tools like vacuum gauges and the OBD tool. but if your ham fisted and don't know one end of a spanner form another then it's best letting a professional do the work as the consequences can lead to waaaay more than what you save. |
