Default Christmas for Troops

Well my current tour of Afghanistan has been cut short by 6 weeks due to me being careless and getting my left arm dragged into the transmission system of a Chinook helicopter. Now I have 30 stitches and a full length cast to show for my efforts.

I know there are still loads of hard working lads and lasses out there who will be away from there families and friends for chistmas and if anyone would like to write or send welfare parcels (max 2kg/4.4lbs) out there the address is;

The Engineers of 1310 Flt
C/O SAC(T) Simon Andrews
1310 Flt JHF(A)
Khandahar
Op Herrick
BFPO 772

I can't tell you how much morale a bag of sweets or a card brings when you're stuck out there, it's nice to know people back home are thinking about you. Anyways thats my bit,
Thanks for reading,
Regards
Si

I might send something to them. What would be good??
What about a shed load of Malteasers?

Would sending stuff to that address result in the contents being distributed equally.....or just going to that individual?

No, that indivual is me, and i'm back in England now. The C/O bit ensures they know it's a welfare package to be shared between them. Malteasers are o.k but chocolate's not really a good idea as it is still quite sunny during the day. Haribo Tangfastics go down a treat As do fruitcakes if anyone likes baking!

Always do send a package and always will. Let my other half (an ex squaddie) pack it last year, we got a letter back saying thank you very much for the effort but a box full of porn is slightly frowned upon! lol

Damn forgot to mention that at the end of my post.....knew I was missing something when hitting submit.

Get well soon you plonka........do these things not have preventative guards on them to prevent such incidents, where if removed they disable the mechanisms (I'm guessing not seen as the result you posted about)

Nope, afraid not! I guess the designers figured us engineers had more sense! lol
Will try and get a few photos of my arm plus red white and blue cast (very R.A.F hehe) on here soon.
