Re: Has anyone been done for speeding between 70 and 100 on a motorway?
Just recently been caught with a 99.87mph average and over 110 in places, cop who pulled me was acually a biker and dealt with it very well! He said to me usually anything over 94mph goes straight to court and over 100mph = insta ban. I got away with a fixed penalty 3 points and £60 fine!! Couldn't belive i did it but i actually thanked him.

M27. 98MPH. SP50. 4 points and £360 fine. Court summons but plea by letter was accepted. About five years ago I think.
Once over took a plain police car at 110MPH on the M5. Think it was 1979/80...£60 fine and a two week ban. My mate got the same. It's not big and it's not clever folks. I don't recall it affecting my insurance tho'.

I'm offended.
No I haven't been a naughty boy but after getting home from Leamigton the other day quicker than I'd normally have done I was curious how it would affect me if I got done. I need my license for my job. How about "progressing" then? |

Sorry Soulkiss this is in no way an attack on you - it's a statement about society.....
(Disclaimer, Soulkiss: this is no way an attack on you by any means!! I've just been hearing so much recently and getting so frustrated I've got to type something - this is a reflection on society more than anything else
Disclaimer(2), this is a thread de-rail, sorry, but I feel I have to type this... Admin, please delete if you see fit, or move wherever). ...... Quote:
phrases to that effect am I also being racist? Another example (and I suppose the real root of this frustration), some of us were talking about types of fruit you can have over summer, and I said was looking forward to cherries coming into season, and how I was going cherry picking at the local fruit farm (it’s a PYO, with strawbs, rasbs and a whole host of other lovely fruit yum yum!). Someone I work with overheard this, and decided that because I’d mentioned ‘cherry picking’ I was being racist! Please could someone explain how?! Anyway, I’ve just had an official summons to my line manager to explain myself! It’s crazy. Sorry to rant, but I think that it’s a common problem with todays’ society, where people try and read racism into a situation where it’s not intended – hell if we try and not use *any* word that could possibly offend anyone ever anywhere, then we’d all mumble – actually, oops, I’ve just offended people who have speech impediments. Apologies. Grrrrrr. |

Re: Has anyone been done for speeding between 70 and 100 on a motorway?
My insurance went up by about £60 from £187 to £260 (for 2 bikes)
I was caught doing 97mph in a 70mph zone. I appeared in court and got 5 points with a £540 fine. Its not something that I am proud of as the thought of not being able to ride or drive as a result is not appealing |

Re: Has anyone been done for speeding between 70 and 100 on a motorway?
I got done last week, SP30 £60 3pts. Wrote my car off in January too, so my renewal will be up i think!
I haven't told my car/bike insurance about my points yet, nor my bike insurance about writing off my car. Do i have to tell them asap or wait until the renewal (bike july, car september)? Thanks, Tom. Last edited by TheStudent; 29-04-08 at 02:29 PM. |

Why 5 points? I thought a speeding fine was 3 points??
