Anyone had an SV650S from new?
Just enjoying my new bike. Wondered if there are any others on here who have owned the latest spec from new?

Yeah I did on my first one, was great apart from the running in period!
Also the feeling that it really is your bike is incredible, after it got killed and I got a second hand one it just wasn't the same.

Last 4 have been brand-new - I've been training myself into the Iron Butt realms though to get all the running in sorted as soon as possible, as that's the worst part.

Bought mine from new. There's something comforting knowing everything about the bike you're riding. It's a big like being married I suppose

Re: Anyone had a SV650S from new?
Oh yes the running in is a pain, still get it over quick that's the answer.
What suspension settings and tyre pressures are you guys using? I had a 2011 model last year and ran fully tightened on the front and max on the rear but have this one set up with a little bit more bounce. The Dunlops were changed for Bridgestones on the last one but I did not notice as much difference as I'd been told. I've got my Dunlops on recommended pressure but had the last one harder for road use. Also rapidgaz, did you have to cut the link pipe to install the Scorpion - there seems no join on the current SV's? Thanks for your input. Came from a Gixxer 600 back to the SV - for the road I prefer it - less focussed and just as much fun! Sprayed mine with WD 40 ready for riding in the salt - don't know how long it will stay looking new! |

Yes link pipe has to be cut. Only took about 20 mins or less.

I've had mine since new; bought in May after having an FZ6 Fazer. Have largely got it looking how I want it. Haven't really fettled with the suspension - I just ride it and try to keep it clean!

Yours looks good - can, screen and solo cover - anything else?
PS Oh yes, fairing - how could I miss that!! PPS - oh perhaps it's the stock screen after all? Last edited by GowerSV; 01-12-13 at 10:13 PM. |
