I think he gets overwhelmed. I am going on a break to Bournemouth next month so I may stop in to his place. Three orders so far and all good in the end.

I have a 75mm f3.5 Novar on my Mess Ikonta, it's coated I think, it's given good pictures on 6x4 under pretty much all conditions, no vignetting to speak of in the corners. It's a triplet but Zeiss do know how to make lenses. I read some articles a while back, the technical performance differences with a Tessar are small in reality, but I have found a better lens is a bit more forgiving if you're not an expert. Other triplets aren't as good either, as a generalism. I know I sought out something "better" for 6x9 but I reckon it's a bigger ask for the lens to cover such a large area well.

I will have to give it a clean up and check the shutter functions ok. I could remove the whole rangefinder set up but I think it add character.

I have given the Duo a clean and noticed quite a bit of fungus in the lens. Most of it has cleaned off but not all. Quite interesting that the focus is done by moving the whole shutter assembly in and out rather than the front element. Hoping it won't need collimating.

Went to rewind the film in my Contessa, it's snapped off at the canister end. Will have to take it to the processors for them to unload it in the darkroom. AAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRGH sums up today, am still fighting with the boiler, and had to take my dad to A&E (thankfully all ok).

Hope everything is ok. Could you not put in a bin bag under the duvet in a dark room, tape the end to a cut down film canister and wind it back in? At least you aren't working on the Perkeo.
