As I expected the joint leaks quite a lot as the standard can has a lot of back pressure so Ive ordered some thin gasket paper which I hope will seal under the clamp....

If that doesn't work get some what we in the Aircraft industry call,"Speed Tape" which we use when masking up special areas before stripping. I've used it on exhausts as packing before,

It does the job. Smells for a short time when it first heats up but works

Just thought I would mention. If you use this tape treat it with respect as the edges are sharp and even more so when off the roll and it's easy to cut yourself :O

This shouldn't be an issue, unless...

I threw away the original can I chopped off and have had to buy another second hand which of course wasnt cut in exactly the same place. The gasket paper seems to have done a good job but it still needs testing.....
