I need a good route
As the title says really
I am planning to have a run down to North Wales from Blackburn in the very near future and was hoping that someone could give me a good route to do. Never been riding in Wales yet so i want my first encounter to be a good one. I have heard about the horseshoe pass so if you could include this in the route that would be great. I know i could get a map out and have a look but it's not the same than someone with knowledge of the area giving you a nice run I have been trying to find the route for the NW6, which i missed because of work, but can't find it anywhere Thanks for your help |

Re: I need a good route
Can PM you the NWR6 route if you want it. How many miles you looking to do? Also horseshoe - smorshoe it's not all that IMHO (Nant-y-Garth nearby is good though) but has the famous Ponderosa biker cafe at the top - packed with bikes most weekends, so worth it for that.
Give us a clue on how much time/distance you have, no problem suggesting routes. |

Re: I need a good route
It will be an all day ride setting off from Blackburn about 07:30 and returning for last light, distance as much as i can get in. I am not a fast rider and will be stopping to take in the view and some photos.
If you could PM the NWR6 route that would be great Anyother routes also welcome Thanks again Shane |

Re: I need a good route
You have PM. Drop me a line when you are heading over, I'll come out if I'm free and you want company.
There will be an NWR6.5 in September, just so you can be prepared if you feel you missed out.

Re: I need a good route
My advice (LP knows why). Stop at the welsh border and turn round. Leave North Wales to the ignorant inbreed minority who view the English tourists as saps to be humiliated and abused.
We in turn will welcome them with open arms and say please spend your Welsh money here.

Re: I need a good route
Strewth! That's a bit harsh. I've been here 25 years and never had any bigotry or intolerance shown towards me on account of my English background. I've been made very welcome here.
I have caught it in the neck on occasion for behaving like a 2hat in the early years but that's another story! Quote:

Re: I need a good route
come on guys, lets not turn this thread into a debate about good/bad experiences. The OP wanted some routes as he is a stranger in these parts, if you can help with that then please post up.
