faired to a naked
over the last 8 years I have had a k1 and k5 faired sv.
I sold my last one to k146 off here in 2007 (wished I had kept it now ) anyway I I have read that insurance NCD only last 2 years (got to check this out) so that time is coming up and rather than lose mine I have decided to get another bike. I have had a look around but tbh there is nothing that floats my boat (I only really like twins now after having a cbr 600 f sport for a year), unless I start looking at 1000's and then all the costs start going up (sv insurance is £120 ) people who have swopped this way or gone from any faired bike to a naked have they suited you? Thanks Mark |

Re: faired to a naked
I knew some one who had a faired but changed the top yoke for one with raisers and bars.
He said it was fantastic and still handled well. Might not be much help but its a start. Last edited by BBadger; 06-06-09 at 05:19 PM. |

Re: faired to a naked
Do it - naked bikes are where it's at. I quite like the nakedness of mine as it makes it more noticable when you're going a bit quick, I find it far too easy to speed on a fully faired bike.

I agree with Jase, its good to be able to feel like you're really travelling without having to get way into triple figures.
My naked is forsale, and as its a curvy and not all that much cash you could sell it on if it doesn't agree with you without losing much, if any money.

I bought mine a couple of months ago.....love it. It's a bonus that it can be so comfy and look good too ! Oh, and it's better at the traffic light grandprix due to different sprocket size (if that's your thing) . |

Re: faired to a naked
Ive got a bandit at the moment, on hire from the insurance company. Its the naked one (i have an SV650s) and being unfaired i guess is fun. Its easier to handle at low speeds, my back dosnt ache as much and neither do my shoulders. You get a bit more sensation of speed, with the extra windblast
I say, go for it |

Re: faired to a naked
I did love my naked curvy, but I couldn't stand long stints up the motorway. It was great fun on the twistys though. I wanted to start doing treks up to visit family so I went faired.
