Default Changing gearing for acceleration?

I have a 2002 SV650S, so far i have had an after market exhaust fitted, along with a K&N filter. I have also had the bike dyno jetted and rolling road tuned and set up.
My next idea for a COST effective mod to get that little bit more acceleration is to fit a smaller sprocket for the front. I understand I will loose soem top end, up hey it only does 130mph anyway, and unless the roads allow i dont get there that often for long, its more twisty A and B roads.
I dont want to buy a new bike, YET, but want to make the most of cheap easy mods, totalling no more than £500.
Has anyone fitted the smaller sprocket, and what was your experiences, good or bad? Is it worth it?

Thanks all

I prefer two teeth up on the rear sprocket. You don't loose out on any top speed as the SV can't rev to the limiter is 6th anyway, wind resistance is the limiting factor, so you just reach the same top speed, but at a slightly higher revs.

From your avatar I'm assuming you have a naked SV? If so it's 15/45, if not it's 15/44

Thanks, why have they given the naked a different rear sprocket then?

Ask Mr Suzuki that one, he gave the naked a shorter swingarm too

Just seems like extra unnecessary manufacturing costs to me, but then what do I know. Is a shorter swingarm a good thing for handling do you know?
