Default changeing speedometer bulb

Hi one and all, this is my first posting so sorry if I have missed anything of importance. I have an SV650S 2002 and need to change (or believe i do) the bulb on my speedometer as it no longer is lite.

Any advice on this procedure would be most welcome

Thanks

Elio

Yeah, its a pain in the ass

You need no remove both mirrors, all the front fairing, the clock surround and then undo the 4x 8mm nuts that are a pain to get to because of the front subframe and lights

after that you just take off the gromit, undo the socket and take out the bulb

The bulbs are 12v 1.3w spade type bulbs with a 5mm connector

I know all this because I changed the tacho bulb in my S yesturday.......suzuki gave me the wrong wattage bulb when i gave them the part number thinking it would save agro..........how wrong was I

Have fun.

Need to remove the clocks. I cant remember if you need to take both side panels and the clock cowling off. Then there are several nuts that you have to remove and diconnect the clocks and take the clocks out. Then remove all the screws from the back and open the clocks up. At the back there are several plastick twist lock holders with the bulbs. Some are diffrent from others.

I hav to replace 2 in mine. At the moment i cant see how fast i am going unless its over 70mph and the tacho is over 6k.

I have seen these LED replacements, i think they are 286 type fitment.

Default Never again

I was too embarassed to take my bike to the store to get them to change a bulb so I did it myself.

It took me 4+ hours to take that giant jigsaw apart and stick it back together. The lights worked fine after.

The day after the regulator stopped working and I'm sure it must have been something I screwed up along the way.

Never again!

Default anyone done the LED dash lights

Hi All,

I too have lost 2 of the 3 instrument/dash bulbs.

I like the idea of the LED approach - not for bling reasons (hence would prefer white), but for not having to change them again for a long time!

Looking at the website listed in this post, are these the right ones?

http://www.ultraleds.co.uk/product_i...b7132623127576

Has anyone successfully fitted these?

Anything I should know about? how is the dispersion, and are they TOO bright?

Cheers in advance,

Chris
