they got upto 90mph on the M6 & never moved an inch
Thanks for this. I suppose it's v difficult to get a protective mat underneath. I looked at that when going to france in May and couldn't work it out.

Yep bin bags still in garage from last year's rally. Will also take pedal bin liners for boots in case we get rain (heavy showers predicted

I will have a look at the pre-load but probably don't know what tool to use for that or not strong enough or something. If enough time left over might ride over to the workshop which is really close. Actually that is a really good idea coming to think of it as it was light the front and I hadn't even packed the top box! but no tankbag either.

Increase the Rear shock pre-load.

With the amount of stuff(read cr*p) I took with me to AE07, bike was positively dangerous without the preload adjusted. Remember to put it back to where it was when you get back.

Easy to do and you should have the tool to adjust it in your tool kit.

The adjuster on the shock is ramped. Putting it on a higher ramp increases the preload. Try going one or two steps up and the try. I think I went two steps up to get an acceptable compromise.

Cheers
Ben

Am i correct in saying turning the preload adjuster to the right while facing the adjuster will increase the preload?

Think so aye. But just look at it, whatever direction squashes the spring more is the right way to turn it.
