I think my sv650s k5 is running rich?
I think my sv650s k5 is running rich, i have fitted a beowulf can to my bike. the thing is it is running smooth, it was serviced about 300 miles ago i just dont no what it could be can any give me soom advice cheers kev

If it's running smooth why do you think its running rich?
Have you looked at the spark plugs?

i have not checked the spark plugs but when it is running on idle its stinks and i was out on a ride with 2 others and there both said that it smells like it is running rich

ah, I'd check the plugs to see what colour they are. That's the best indicator I know.

Only way to check is to get it onto a dyno for an air/fuel ratio run. Plugs tell you very little IMHO.
Normally though most we dyno that have had end cans put on them do go rich in the bottom end. If its very rich then quite often you will also get a lumpy or rough idle and low speed running. Most bikes though benefit from a full ecu remap as the stock fueling is just a generic factory installed map which wont suit every bikes engine and injector tolerances. Gains are to be had even on totally stock bikes. |

The original exhaust has a catalytic converter which takes care of any unburned fuel. The aftermarket one don't have it and the stuff you smell may actually be fuel leftovers.
