Default Ohlins shock servicing - where from?

Hi,
The Ohlins in the Falco has done about 15k with me on it, from what I read it should be due a service now (right?).

What do these services consist of and roughly how much should they cost? Is replacing the spring required as well?

And finally, where do people send their shocks for servicing? Any recommendations?

Cheers
dyz

For service you replace seals, wiper, check for wear, fresh oil, regas.

I do my own penskes, showa, kyb, but not ohlins yet.

Sure, will do it for nowt, just pay for whatever parts are needed.

Showas and such you can get seals for from normal seal places, or you can do it hillbilly way and if seal is not leaking leave it alone.

you don't need to replace the spring

How do you re-gas YC? I thought it took all kinds of fancy equipment to do that.

Oh right... no just need a bottle of nitrogen, a regulator and a filling hose with adaptor for schrader valve. Few places sell tool to adapt schrader to needle fitting.

Only fly in ointment is WP who use some daft thing where you need to clamp it to top of res, fill it, then put a bolt in (without releasing pressure!) which needs special tool. I need to buy/borrow a WP shock to make tool for that.

Cheers Darren, how do you rate his service on the set up?
Heard various opinions on here...was about the price of servicing a shock if I remember correctly.

Can't remember how much it was tbh. I just told him my weight, what type of riding I do and he set it up. He keeps your settings on file so if you're not happy with something you can go back and he will adjust it

Might use him for the set up. The guy from Glasgow was impossible to reach.

YC, I should be in touch once I get the bike back.

Cheers
