Re: Cardiff
Not bad for a break..... lots to see, inc Museum of Welsh Life in St Fagans and National Museum in Cathays Park (both free).
City Centre looks like bomb's hit it at the moment as the St Davids shopping centre is getting an overhaul/rebuild. Bay is good - lots of places to eat/drink. Not sure I'd want to spend a whole w/e in the Bay, though, so would choose to stay somewhere more central. What sort of accommodation are you looking for? Price? |

Re: Cardiff
The etap hotel is very cheap and cheerful and between town and the bay.

Re: Cardiff
Cardiff is pretty decent, I've lived here ten years and it's changed a lot in that time.
While the Bay is nice for a day or two, that'll more or less do you, as there's not that much there (though I do recommend both the Terra Nova and the Waterguard as pubs). There's always the castle, a trip to the cliffs at Penarth is good, and the city centre itself is small enough that you can walk everywhere in no time at all. |

Re: Cardiff
Come to Bristol. Much more to do. Clifton, the bridge, Cabot Circus if you like shops, good pubs and restaurants, boat trips along Waterfront, SS Great Britain, Banksy exhibition at Museum (queue-tastic), walk out into countryside. Mind you be lucky to find a hotel for £40. Ibis?
